Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins became the seventh player to take a hat-trick in consecutive matches in the ICC T20 World Cup.
During the Super 8 stage of the event, Pat Cummins achieved the hat-trick
honor in the match against Afghanistan. He took the wickets of Afghan players
Karim Janat, Rashid Khan, and Gulbadin Naib, all of whom were caught out.
After former fast bowler Brett Lee, Pat Cummins is the second Australian
bowler to take a hat-trick in the T20 World Cup. Prior to this, Pat Cummins
also took a hat-trick in the match against Bangladesh on Thursday.
It is noteworthy that in the Super 8 stage, Australia faced an upset defeat
by 21 runs at the hands of Afghanistan, which was the Afghan team first victory
against Australia in any format.
