Scottish bowler Charlie Cassell set a record by taking 7 wickets on his ODI debut. He achieved this achievement in a World Cup League 2 match against Oman. Charlie bowled 5.4 overs,Giving up just 21 runs and dismissing 7 players. Due to his excellent bowling, the opposition team was bowled out for 91 runs in 21.4 overs. The Scottish team easily chased the target in 17.2 overs with 2 wickets down.
The previous record for the best bowling on ODI debut was held by South African pacer Kagiso Rabada since 2015. He took 6 wickets for 16 runs against Bangladesh in July 2015. Charlie got the opportunity to join the Scottish squad in place of Chris Sole.
