Scoring 13 runs on one ball, India
set a unique record against Zimbabwe. On Sunday, during the fifth and final T20
match against Zimbabwe in Harare, Indian batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal made history
by scoring 12 runs on the very first ball of the innings.
In the match, Zimbabwe decided to
bowl first. Sikandar Raza came to bowl the first over for the host team. He
bowled a high full toss on the very first delivery, which Indian batsman
Yashasvi Jaiswal easily hit for a six over deep square leg. The umpire declared
it a no-ball, giving India 7 runs without a legitimate delivery and also
awarding a free hit.
On the next ball from Sikandar Raza,
Jaiswal hit another consecutive six, sending the ball over the boundary.
Thus, India scored 13 runs on the
very first ball of the match, and Jaiswal became the first cricketer to score
12 runs on the first legitimate ball in cricket history.
