In the pre-match press conference before the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup, Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma responded to statements regarding ball tampering made by former captain and chief selector Anzamam-ul-Haq. He reacted, saying, 'What should I answer? If you're playing in extreme heat and the pitches are dry, the ball naturally starts to reverse swing.'

He mentioned, 'All teams are getting reverse swing, it's just a bit more for us. Sometimes you have to open your mind; you have to understand where we are playing - we are not playing in England or Australia.'

Earlier, in an interview with local TV, former cricketer Anzamam-ul-Haq had accused Indian fast bowler Shardul Thakur of ball tampering during a crucial match between Australia and India. He stated that during the 15th over of the match between Australia and India, Shardul Thakur was reversing the ball. New ball doesn't reverse so quickly, which means the ball was prepared for reverse swing by the 12th or 13th over. Umpires need to keep their eyes open for these things.'

The former cricketer further said, 'If Pakistani bowlers were reversing the ball instead of Indian ones, allegations of ball tampering would have surfaced by now. But when Shardul is reversing the ball in the 15th over, it clearly indicates that there was tampering with the ball.'"
