Guyana: In the second semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup, India defeated England by 68 runs to qualify for the final.

In the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024 held at the Providence Stadium in Guyana, India set a target of 172 runs for England to win. In response, the English team was all out for 103 runs in 16.4 overs.

The final of the event will be played on Saturday in Barbados between South Africa and India at 7:30 PM Pakistani time.

England Innings:

Chasing the target, no English batsman could stand long against the Indian bowlers, and wickets continued to fall one after another. Harry Brook scored 25, Jos Buttler 23, and Jofra Archer 21 runs. Apart from them, no other English batsman could reach double figures.

For India, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets each, and Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets.

India Innings:

Batting first, India scored 171 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Rohit Sharma scored 57, and Suryakumar Yadav 47 runs. Hardik Pandya made 23, Axar Patel 10, Virat Kohli 9, and Rishabh Pant 4 runs, while Shivam Dube was out for a duck. Ravindra Jadeja remained unbeaten with 17, and Arshdeep Singh with 1 run.

For England, Chris Jordan took 3 wickets, while Reece Topley, Jofra Archer, Sam Curran, and Adil Rashid took one wicket each.

Toss:

Earlier, England won the toss and invited India to bat first. Due to rain, the match started at 8:45 PM instead of the scheduled 7:30 PM, and the toss was also delayed.

In the first semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup, South Africa defeated Afghanistan by 9 wickets to qualify for the mega event final for the first time. In the first semi-final of the mega event at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad, South Africa achieved Afghanistan's easy target of 56 runs in 8.5 overs with the loss of one wicket.
